Domestic Adoption Services
Adopt
is a private, non-profit agency licensed by the State of California
since 1983 and the State of Hawaii since 1993. We provide Home
Study services and facilitate domestic adoptions for families residing
in these two states.*
We assist you in finding a baby. Most of our families find
babies through our network, which include: doctors, nurses, clinics,
counselors, teen pregnancy programs, agencies, attorneys, and birth
and adoptive parents. We will also guide you in using your
personal network. In our Domestic Adoption Program we hold your hand
through the making of your “Dear Birth Mother” letter
and educate you about the realities and benefits of open adoption. Adopt
will screen and assess birth parents, coordinate your adoption once
you are matched and provide emotional support throughout the journey.
An agency adoption requires a Home Study be completed prior to the
relinquishment and placement. As an educational agency, we
conduct Home Studies with respect and openness, and work with traditional
and nontraditional families.
*Recently Adopt opened our Domestic Adoption Program to Alliance
for Children families. Alliance for Children, Inc. is a non-profit
adoption agency based in Massachusetts and they have placed thousands
of children from around the world in permanent adoptive homes. If
