The Adoption Home Study is a gathering of information,
which is required by State Law. The Home Study is an educational,
non-judgmental process and will focus on your domestic or international
adoption plan. It
covers the following areas:
- Attitudes towards adoption, including transracial and
transcultural issues
- Education and career history
- Family background and adoption support
- Parenting and child raising beliefs
- Financial information and stability
- Medicals and references
If you are a married couple, the first visit to discuss
your motivation for adoption is a joint visit. Then you will each attend
an individual meeting, which is autobiographical in content. The final
visit is in your home. If you are single, the first visit will discuss
your motivation to adopt. The second visit will be autobiographical
in content, and the final visit will be in your home. Additional visits
may be required if there are children or other adults living in the
home.
What could be more rewarding, for the inconvenience of
collecting papers and going through a Home Study, than the arrival
of a wonderful child into your life? We look forward to helping
you make this happen!
If you have already spoken to our staff and received
a user id and code, please click on the type of homestudy you require
and enter the necessary codes. If you need a home study and have
not had an intake with one of our staff members, please give us
a call and we would be happy to answer your questions, ask you
a few ourselves, and then provide you the codes to begin the process.
