Hi, we are Steve and Arturo. Thank you for reading our letter. We are humbled that you’re considering us as adoptive parents for your baby. We know that you love your child very much and that finding a loving home for your child is one of your greatest concerns.

We’ve been in a committed and loving relationship for 9 years. We’re very fortunate to have found each other and as a team, we believe we’ll make great parents.

We own a cheerful home in Portola Valley, CA, which is surrounded by nature and is a great place to raise kids. We share our home with our Labs, Guinness and Bubba — they’re gentle with kids and will help create a loving home for our child. We’re also part of the Stanford University community and our child will be immersed in the benefits it has to offer.

Steve enjoys working with kids. He’s a surgeon and professor at Stanford and is inspired by caring for patients, participating in research and teaching students. He loves sports, hiking and camping. Steve has played on a soccer team with the same group of friends for 10 years. He also has an Architecture degree and has a deep interest in art and design.

Arturo is an affectionate person with a natural ability to bond with children. He works in international marketing, is fluent in four languages and enjoys using these skills in diverse cultures. He is a former college athlete and enjoys fitness and cooking. He loves new challenges and recently completed a 565 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

We love traveling and meeting new people. As a team, we’ve gone to Guatemala with a medical foundation — Steve performs surgery while Arturo is his interpreter. We love weekends in Lake Tahoe, where we ski, sail and explore the lake’s surroundings. We also love cooking and touring local farms which have inspired our organic garden.

We’re dedicated to raising our child in a fun and positive environment — where family, love and laughter are central and where creativity, trust and respect for others are the foundation to life-long relationships. We look forward to exposing our child to travel, sports, nature, and cultural activities that will inspire our child’s unique passions in life.

As adoptive parents, we’ll do our best to help our child know your decision was made out of love. We’ve put a great deal of thought into becoming parents. We’re blessed with loving family and friends, as well as emotional and financial stability. We’ll both take an active role in parenting and look forward to having a home filled with the laughter of our child.
