Giavanna & Joshua
We are Giavanna and Joshua, and we thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We admire the strength in your consideration for adoption. Whatever you decide will be the best for you as well as your baby, and we hope to give you a sense of who we are and the loving family we could be for your child.
We met through a friend on an old fashioned, blind date and have been together ever since. This summer we will be celebrating our 5th year of marriage! We have a fun, happy relationship that is based on mutual love and respect. Our dream is to have a family filled with the laughter and playfulness of children, and we are so excited to become parents.
Gia is a bright soul that attracts people; she is intelligent and sweet, and very family oriented. Born and raised in San Francisco, Gia is from a mixed Italian and Filipino family. Her vibrant childhood was filled with big family gatherings, games, live music, and home cooked meals. She was a dancer and choreographer and worked as a nanny for many years. Now a labor and delivery nurse, Gia is passionate about supporting women - both physically and emotionally - through birth. She enjoys cooking and baking, yoga, swimming, dancing, watching sports, and being in nature. Gia is looking forward to the simple joys of motherhood - dance parties in the living room, family strolls through the farmer’s market, bath time, and reading stories before bed.
Josh is caring, hard-working, steady, and loyal. He grew up in a small town in Eastern North Carolina in a tight-knit, loving family and supportive community. His family visits a few times a year, and his parents are so excited to welcome their first grandchild. Josh works as a defense lawyer with his own law practice that focuses on trial work. He surfs and likes soccer, reading, sharing meals with friends, volunteering with local children’s organizations, watching movies and tv shows at home, and traveling as much as he and Gia can. He is an avid North Carolina basketball fan and tries to watch every game. Josh is looking forward to taking walks in the neighborhood, spending time at the beach as a family, and even helping with homework.
We live in San Francisco in a safe, quiet neighborhood across from a children’s playground and within walking distance to Golden Gate Park. We are also close to Ocean Beach – Josh’s favorite place to surf! We are grateful to live in an area with a diverse mix of restaurants, outdoor activities, art and music, and are only a short drive away from some of our favorite hikes and our family vacation home in Lake Tahoe. Our home is spacious, calm, and welcoming, with lots of natural light and eclectic art. The highlight of our home is our French Bulldog, Buster, who is super cuddly and has tons of personality. We live 5 minutes away from Gia’s parents, who are eager to help care for their first grandchild.
Adoption was always a part of our family plan, and after struggling with pregnancy, we decided to focus our energy on the adoption journey. We welcome an open adoption and will work to maintain as much communication as you would like throughout your child’s life. Our promise is to provide our child a home filled with love, honesty, kindness, and acceptance and to raise our child into a warm, respectful person – someone that you would be proud of.
