Sharon Meyers, Social Worker

After admiring the incredible work that Adopt does with families in our community, I convinced Lisa to hire me in 2017.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Vermont and a dual Master’s degree in Social Work and Public Health from Tulane University. My first job out of graduate school was at a residential treatment program for young parenting and pregnant women in Vermont, which sparked a lifelong passion to work with children and families (I love babies!).

At Adopt, I am an Adoption Social Worker in both the Domestic and International Programs. In addition to meeting so many loving adoptive families, I am truly humbled by working with the courageous, strong, and compassionate birth mothers in our community.

When not out in the field or in the office working, you may come across me at the beach on a surfing adventure with my babies (who aren’t so little anymore - now one is a teenager and the other almost is!) or hiking in the Berkeley Hills with family, friends and my dog Lizzie.
