Xiaoqing Cai, China Program Coordinator

I started working for Bay Area Adoption Services at the end of 1994 as the China Program Coordinator and was actively involved with the China program at BAAS through 2019, when I joined Adopt as the China Program Coordinator when BAAS merged with Adopt.
I hold a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in English from Sichuan University in China and a Master degree in American Studies from Michigan State University.
I lived for twenty five years in the People’s Republic of China, Sichuan province. I have lived in the United States for over thirty years. I have extensive knowledge of Chinese history, literature, politics and culture.
I have coordinated over 1000 Chinese children’s adoption since 1994.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to do this work and to have this opportunity to help build families. It is the perfect work for me. I can use my language ability and knowledge of two cultures. I love the children and I love to work with the families. They are wonderful and appreciate what I do. And as an adoptive mother myself, international adoption is close to my heart.
