We are Paul and Chris, and we are so grateful that this letter has found its way to you. We don’t know the full range of emotions you may be experiencing, and we want to acknowledge the incredible bravery, strength, and love it takes to consider an adoption plan for your child. We are honored that you are taking the time to learn about us.

We are a loving couple that is devoted to one another and have both dreamed of being parents since we were kids. At our core, we share a passion for learning and pushing ourselves into new experiences, like traveling or learning new languages. We particularly love to travel, whether it be through books or in out in the world, and try to immerse ourselves in different cultures. From those experiences, we carry our sense of curiosity and openness into our lives in San Francisco. We hope to pass that same sense of wonder and exploration on to our child.

Chris is a materials scientist at a consulting firm, where he works on projects focused on improving the safety of medical devices and helping ensure better outcomes for patients. He finds great purpose in work that positively impacts others. Outside of his career, Chris has a deep love for music—he sings with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and enjoys playing guitar. He also loves cooking and creating warm, welcoming gatherings for friends and family.

Paul is a high school chemistry teacher who brings enthusiasm, patience, and creativity into the classroom every day. He has known since elementary school that he would be a teacher, and he has a natural gift for connecting with young people and fostering curiosity and confidence in his students. In his free time, Paul expresses his creativity through art—he loves to draw, paint, and sew, and has even created beautiful clothing and quilts. We know his creativity will bring joy, imagination, and warmth into a child’s life.

Family is at the center of who we are. We are incredibly fortunate to have a large, loving, and supportive network around us. Chris’s father, sister, brother-in-law, and two nephews who are so excited about the idea of becoming cousins—live nearby in Sacramento, and we spend as much time with them as we can. Paul’s family is spread between North Carolina and London; his sister and her family (two daughters) are so excited to become pseudo grandparents and aunties. His larger extended family is extremely excited to meet the next generation in our family- on beach vacations, thanksgiving and Christmas especially! We make a strong priority to visit them all multiple times a year, ensuring those relationships remain strong and meaningful. In addition, we are surrounded by close friends, many with children ranging from toddlers to teenagers—who are eagerly awaiting and ready to welcome a new member into our extended community.

Our home is filled with laughter, creativity, curiosity, and love. We are committed to providing a child with a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment where they can grow into exactly who they are meant to be. We promise to support them unconditionally, celebrate their individuality, and give them every opportunity to learn, explore, and feel deeply loved.
